Tues 16th Sept OPENING NIGHT
COURSE: week 1
Introduction to filming course WELCOME AND WELCOME BACK! Memberships hopefully prepaid. Old friends and new members congregate to welcome the newcomers, understand their needs, and enjoy some nibbles. Course starts and others watch some short films
Tues 23th Sept COURSE: week 2
How to film overhead and flypast shots
Course while others see RFVM member David Gregory demonstrate his Drone for the GoPro camera (possibly in the carpark) and see some clips taken using a drone.
Tues 30th Sept COURSE: week 3
GUEST SPEAKER
Course while others listen to Geoff Harmer of Fraught Productions, and also a film judge, presents a selection of his own films
Fri 3rd Oct Surrey Border Interclub competition Reading are defending, having won the trophy in last year's competition. Meet at 7:45pm at St. Joan's Centre which is beside St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 19 Tilford Road, Farnham, Surrey GU9 8DJ
Tues 7th Oct COURSE: week 4
EVERYONE'S A CRITIC
Course while others in small groups, critique another club's "show reel" using our own club score sheets. (Include some BIAFF short films)
Fri 10th Oct GATEWAY TROPHY TRIANGLE COMPETITION Our annual competition against Staines and Bourne End hosted by Staines at 8pm. Laleham Village Hall, The Broadway, Laleham Middx TW18 1RZ Arrive 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start.

PRACTIAL EVENING
Foley Sound
Course while others in groups working on pre-arranged scripts use recording equipment for possible later use in animated films
Tues 21st Oct COURSE: week 6
A SLEEPLESS NIGHT AHEAD!
Final week of the course and trainee members present their intro films to fellow club members, and receive their certificates. We will also watch some "scary films" to inspire us with ideas for our 4th November practical challenge

Tues 4th Nov PRACTICAL CHALLENGE
Making a horror scene/film
In small groups members film short scary films, to be screened on the 25th Nov.
Tues 11th Nov THE CURRIE CUP Our annual competition for the best four minute film or video
NB Church people using kitchen & big hall till 8pm
Tues 18th Nov Script writing skills SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER now changed to 24 Feb RFVM member Lawrence Kavanagh discusses script writing techniques, including successful film clips
Tues 25th Nov THE GROSVENOR TROPHY Our annual competition for summer project films (max 15mins) made by club members + Scary Films made on 4th Nov.
Tues 2nd Dec Tribute night Evening dedicated to our past President Don Currie showing a mixture of his greatest works.
Tues 9th Dec THE WARD TROPHY Our annual competition for the best holiday film or video (max 15mins)
Tues 16th Dec GOODBYE 2014 + Christmas film quiz Join us for nibbles including some surprise fun and games

Tues 6th Jan GUEST SPEAKER Film Maker Matt Davis shares his knowledge with us - ‘Shooting Flat’ - why, why not. The search for dynamic range and the limitations (DSLR, CineGammas, 8 bit)
- Shooting cinematically - what is that elusive ‘thing’? Techniques, tips, tricks and tales
- 4K - a briefing: what’s good, what’s bad, what you DON’T hear
- New editing workflows in the world of phones, go pros, 4K and the new codecs

At Reading Golf Club. Bring your family and friends for an excellent night out
Tues 13th Jan Competition night THE BURKE TROPHY for the best ten minute film or video made by a club member who has not previously won a club competition (max 10mins) plus THE CAVERSHAM CUP for the best one minute film or video
Tues 20th Jan GUEST SPEAKER Peter Lang is an animator who will share and discuss his wide knowledge of animation to inspire us for next week's challenge
Tues 27th Jan PRACTICAL EVENING
Animation
Short talk on animation by RFVM president Bernard Bareham, and a chance to work in groups to experiment with animation.
Tues 3rd Feb GUEST SPEAKER A welcome return  to RFVM from Matt Gibbs who this time will share his knowledge on filming using a DSLR. Matt will share his knowledge with us on camera settings, lens choice, audio and lighting, before offering  hands on assistance in a workshop style evening. Bring your DSLR and Tripod if you have one
Tues 10th Feb Members Evening Members share their ideas to entertain us this evening. Some members have some films to screen, and there is a showreel from Doncaster club requiring comments
Tues 17th Feb THE GEAR TROPHY
Our annual competition for the best documentary film or video (max 15mins)
Tues 24th Feb SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER again changed, now 17 Mar Planning for Wokingham Theatre filming We have once again hired Wokingham theatre as a filming venue. Let's get planning.
Fri 27th Feb
STAINES INTERCLUB COMPETITION At Laleham Village Hall, TW18 1RZ at 7.30pm
Tues 3rd Mar PRACTICAL EVENING.
So that's how they did it!
Groups will be given a couple of scenes from famous films to try to replicate, using equipment provided by club members including dollies, and different lenses
Tues 10th Mar GUEST SPEAKER Local Filmmaker Darren Power of Irishshadow Productions will share his knowledge with us
Thur 12th Mar WEYMOUTH PENNY CUP COMPETITION At Wellworthy Sports & Social Club, Dumbarton Road, Wyke Regis, Weymouth, DT4 9BY at 7pm
Tues 17th Mar Rearranged SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER event
Philip Bloom with a £10 entrance fee being charged for visitors. A very accomplished filmmaker, he will give us the benefit of his experience and skills. NON MEMBERS can reserve tickets by emailing our club secretary and payment in cash of £10 is required at the door on the night, but your place must be pre-booked. Refreshments of tea/coffee and biscuits are included. We look forward to seeing you.
Tues 24th Mar PRACTICAL CHALLENGE Each group will be given a product to use to make an advert (details in advance of evening)
Tues 31st Mar Wokingham Theatre
Shooting 2-3 projects
Teams will film their drama using Wokingham Theatre (Twyford Rd, Wokingham, RG40 5TU) as a venue
Tues 7th Apr THE BOURNES CUP Our annual open competition for the best film or video with guest BIAFF judge Geoff Harmer
Tues 14th Apr BERNARD BAREHAM FICTION TROPHY
Our annual fiction film competition (max 15mins) including the Wokingham Theatre results. Also we watch results of our practical challenge from 3rd March
Tues 21st Apr Creative Editing RFVM member Anne Massey demonstrates some of her editing tips, using pre-recorded live demonstrations
Fri 24th Apr PREMIERE NIGHT We invite our friends and families to see the highlights of our year and present
our awards at the Reading Golf Club
Tues 28th Apr Planning Summer projects Opportunity to discuss summer projects and watch adverts made by members on 24th Mar.
Tues 5th May AGM AGM and screening of highlights of the season
